12 12 "by 12 curated by Mats Gustafsson

Location: Box 3

12 12 "by 12 curated by Mats Gustafsson

Perspectives Festival has invited 12 musicians, artists and other related forms of life to exhibit 12 pieces of 12"s LP sleeves in freely chosen themes (or without a theme...).
The result is given in Box 3 for the entire festival.

Mathias Pöschl

Location: BOX 1

Mathias Pöschl (AUS)

Mathias Pöschl is a vital part of the new young scene in Vienna. His strong political and ideological art, has after his graduation at the art school in Vienna 2008, been raging around and tear wounds of the Austrian art world. His art is often associated with music and this is the second music festival to invite him to cooperate. Nickelsdorf Confrontation 2008 was framed by sculptural black hangers (to hang people in ... not clothes) next to the stage in a most effective and tangible way.
A deconstruction-istic and transformative approach to art history and references around creating new works of materials that might be recognized, but not completely.

Carl-Michael von Hausswolff

Location: BOX 3

Carl-Michael von Hausswolff (SWE)

Hausswolff is a legend in contemporary art. One of the few English artists who actually managed to break concepts and ideas internationally. E.g. the Biennale in Venice was harassed by Hausswolff and companions.
Many collaborations have been with Leif Elggren (which accounted for the visual setting of the Box 1 and Box 3 under p2007. They have together created UK Elgaland-Varga Country. You are though citizens?).
With strong conceptuality Hausswolff has created strong touching art that has been moving in different materials and shapes. But often with powerful acoustic elements. Audio which is crawling inside.
Hausswolff has been invited to the P2009 to create a unique sound piece that will be sounding in Box 3 for the entire festival.

Jennifer Espling

Saddle, 107x 92 cm

Location: BOX 2

Jennifer Espling (SWE)

Jennifer has been at previous Perspectives festivals shown what her aesthetics is about. With great feeling for the form and context, she has been surprising and touching. The deformed plastic crates that appeared on the second festival has etched itself firmly in the mind. Beautiful, but at the same time brutal recycling in a wonderful manner in harmony with the experimental music.
