About us
Dear festival audience!

So it is time for the third Perspectives festival for contemporary experimental, improvised music.

We want to show, that there is a music different from the one that usually dominates our medias and acts as subject of generosity from those in power. This music is a spearhead in the development, and gives us, in the long term, new tools to understand and influence a reality in change.

Much of this new music has geographical origin quite far from us. We have let this festival to be dominated by the vibrant and exciting Japanese experimental scene. What happens there may for a Westerner seem surprising, perhaps ever direct shocking. And that is exactly what we want: shake you up!, getting people to feel that there is something else than the usual and polished mainstream! The pleasant identification is not highly valued in our festivals. Altogether, the new music shows that things may be different from what they are. Even far beyond the musical domains.

The established society and the majority of its leaders would prefer that this music would not exist. It somehow disrupt the order. It is much safer with the old standard, that "the fine music" (= classical music, merely older ones) to ” the fine people” and then a little Brittney to the masses! The cultural policy maintained by the politicians clearly shows this.

Yet we continue!!!!! And it's not particularly clever. Well, can you get more stupid? We engaged with our festivals as a heroic but hopeless struggle against the very human stupidity. Our first festival in 2004 had the slogan "Fight Global Stupidity!". In the next festival in 2007 we narrowed the perspective to "Fight Local Stupidity!" We have not, in either the global or local level reached any success. Therefore, one, in itself embarrassing, insight, so slowly crept in: the most stupid of them all are we ourselves! Just because we are continuing the festival work and, by extension, from the outset lost fighting around the World, perhaps the most powerful force, stupidity. That is why we have this time chosen the slogan:

Fight (Y)our Stupidity!

This, in our opinion, clever parentheses highlights our view that  we can broaden the perspective a little to cover all individual stupidity. For we are, of course, not completely alone.

But now, dear joint blockheads, we ignore, at least temporarily, in all this, and are looking forward to three wonderful and festive days together where we can revel in various sense and soul developing sound and noise! Let us at least irritate POWER and bring it to feel some DISCOMFORT!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the Perspectives 2009!
